Degenerative Disk Disease Treatment in Woodstock, Georgia

It can be overwhelming to have to live with any kind of pain and discomfort that will not let up. There are a wide variety of things that can bring on pain in the back or pain in the neck, so getting an accurate diagnosis by an experienced professional is essential. If you suffer from seemingly constant pain of the lower back, then disk degeneration is a common cause. The medical condition that’s known as degenerative disk disease is related to the degeneration of spinal discs, which are soft tissue in between your vertebral bones in your spine. It’s something that’s rather common in people as they age. Degeneration isn’t usually an instant or a rapid thing unless it’s caused by a harsh impact or injury. It’s usually something that comes on slowly but surely over time.

There are risk factors that increase the potential to suffer from disk degeneration. Some of the risk factor include being overweight, smoking cigarettes, or sitting for long periods of time. If you participate in sports that involve regular impact of the spine such as football or gymnastics you may be at a higher risk as well. If you’ve experienced a spine injury in the past you’re at a higher risk of developing disc degeneration also.

Do You Have Degenerative Disk Disease?

If you’re someone who has disk generation, intense and lingering pain may feel like the bane of your existence. Disk degeneration has the ability to bring on back pain in a few ways. That’s because it can trigger disc herniation, degenerative spondylolisthesis and even degenerative scoliosis. If you have unpleasant back pain, and numbness of the feet and the legs then herniation is a likely candidate as the primary cause.

Understand, too, that back pain isn’t the sole possible symptom of degenerative disk disease. If you have this kind of disease, then your body may constantly feel rigid. Motion may become a problem for you. If you have difficulty moving and cannot explain why, then it may be the consequence of degeneration.

Pain that’s associated with degeneration doesn’t just influence the bottom part of the back. Some people who have it actually complain about their necks hurting as well. It’s crucial to acknowledge that degenerative disk disease may vary in intensity levels. There are some people who have the condition who talk about symptoms that are rather subtle. Others describe their symptoms that as intensified and debilitating. In some cases a herniated disc can cause paralysis of the legs and feet.

Carolyn’s Testimonial

My name is Carolyn and I want to tell you my story about Laser. Several years ago, as I was getting out of a truck, my feet slipped and I landed on the pavement jerking my back in a way that I never knew existed thus causing extreme back pain.

I went to my primary care doctor due to the pain I was in. I could not put my foot on the floor. The primary care doctor sent me for x-rays. The results of the x-ray showed a nerve pressing on a disk.

My primary care doctor sent me to Shahram Rezaiamiri, a Board Certified Neurosurgeon who is located in Stockbridge, GA. Dr. Rezaiamiri talked to me about Laser being less invasive and how this may be a better plan of action for me. I have to admit I was reluctant at first but now after living with the result I’m thankful I chose Laser.

If anyone is having back pain, Laser is the only way to go and if I had to make the choice again, this is what I would choose. The recovery was 6 to 8 weeks, and I have not had back pain since my surgery.

I would not trust anyone else to surgery on my back, Dr. Rezaiamiri, knows what he is doing and is a fantastic doctor, the results I’m living with are a testimony to his great work.

If you are having back pain so severe and can no longer stand it and are not certain what you should do, Laser is the way to go. It certainly worked for me. I pray if you choose the route, that you will be pleased with the results. I know and realize that not everyone will have the same results due to the type of injury they may have, however I can honestly say I highly recommend Dr. Rezaiamiri to anyone who is in need of Laser surgery.

Thank you to Dr. Rezaiamiri for all you did to help me.

Sincerely,
Carolyn
