How is it different from other surgeries?
Laser spine surgery is a minimally invasive type of back surgery that uses laser energy to treat a range of spine–related issues, such as herniated discs, stenosis, and more. Unlike conventional spine surgery, laser spine surgery does not involve making large incisions or removing bone or tissue. Instead, it uses a small laser fiber that is inserted through a very small incision in the skin. The laser is then used to remove bone and tissue that is causing pressure on the spine, or to ablate or shrink the tissue that is causing pain or other issues. Laser spine surgery has a much shorter recovery time than traditional open spine surgery and can provide patients with relief from their pain or other issues with minimal disruption to their daily life.
